The global circular water systems
The “global water cycle” refers to all systems that move water globally. Whether through
precipitation
, run-off, or evaporation, or over land,
the subsurface, or the oceans.
More than 500,000 cubic kilometers of
water
are moved. This corresponds to a
precipitation level
of just under one meter on a global average.
According to the World Center for Precipitation Climatology (WZN) at the German Weather Service, every year on Earth, through:
Rainfall,
Evaporation,
Run-off
